Wilson Recruitment Ltd is a small family run recruitment agency based in Northamptonshire. We recruit temporary and permanent staff across the East Mids, West Mids and Wales for the catering and driving industries. We are currently seeking a HGV Technician to work a full time, permanent contract for our prestigious client based in Worksop. This position is for an experienced HGV Technician responsible for maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to MOT standard.
Role
• HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Mechanic / Master Tech
• Worksop
• £18.50 (Days) - £21 (Nights) per hour DOE
Night shifts 22.00pm – 07.00am (inclusive of 30 minutes paid break)
OR
Day shifts 06:00 till 14:00 / 14:00 till 22:00
As a HGV Technician your responsibilities may include:
• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standard
• Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
• Attend disabled vehicles at the roadside or at customer’s premises
• Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
• Liaise with parts department to attain parts
• Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
• Ensure appropriate clocking is made, all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
• Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses
The ideal candidate:
• Must be a qualified or time served Truck / Lorry / HGV Mechanic
• Should hold NVQ L3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Service, Maintenance and Repair (desirable)
• May hold HGV Class 1 licence (desirable)
• Will be flexible, adaptable, hardworking and trustworthy
• Shall be a team player
• Could possess good IT skills and have previous working knowledge of Kerridge (desirable)
• Might have experience working on trucks and trailers (desirable)
