The role
As a HGV Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will work closely with one of our partners, the London Fire Brigade.
Day to day, you'll be responsible for servicing and repairing all defects on their fire vehicles. In the London fleet, you can have the opportunity to work on 32metre and 64metre aerials, along with the UK's first Electric Fire engine, along with servicing requirements around fire pumps.
- Diagnose faults and test vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques. Including road testing where deemed necessary
- Work in an efficient and productive manner, achieving the targets set out and agreed with Workshop Supervisors or Manager
- Operate a 'Fix First Time' way of working ensuring quality of work is at the utmost standard and meets/exceeds any inspection carried out against it
- Drive in a manner within the parameters of the law
This role is full time and will be based at Ruislip on site.
Essential experience of the HGV Technician:
- Experience in Mechanical Workshops or Car Plants
Qualifications for the HGV Technician:
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
