Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join our team.
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure their safe and efficient operation. This is a full-time position with competitive pay. Includes every other Saturday morning only.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on HGVs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Repair or replace faulty components, parts, or systems
- Conduct vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment to complete repairs and maintenance tasks
- Weld and fabricate as needed for repairs or modifications
- Assemble and disassemble vehicle components as required
- Conduct diagnostic tests using computerized systems
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and inspections performed
Qualifications:
WOULD CONSIDER PART QUALIFIED/SEMI SKILLED
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
- Proficient in using hand tools and specialized equipment
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Knowledge of welding techniques for repairs or modifications
- Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
