About the Role
The role will be based in Warwick / The Midlands with hybrid and flexible working. Our National Grid assets are across England and Wales so don’t worry if you are not based near the midlands - although you will need to attend our Warwick office throughout parts of the course.
As a result of the energy transformation we're seeing unprecedented growth in our network and are looking to grow our Electricity Transmission (ET) Property Lands Team. We are looking for Higher Apprentices to support on delivering new infrastructure projects within our team to help facilitate the Great Grid Upgrade which is the largest overhaul of the electricity grid in generations.
With a starting salary of £28,000 our Land Surveyor apprenticeship scheme is an alternative route to university and provides you with the opportunity to earn a competitive salary whilst gaining experience & knowledge across a number of different Lands teams and projects.
Apprentices will be required to complete a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited BSc/BSc(Honours) or (where the apprentice already holds a Level 6 degree and subject to an assessment of prior learning) an RICS accredited Post Graduate Diploma or MSc.
On the programme, you'll be part of a dynamic team that provide expert land rights service for National Grid. You will be actively supported through your studies and will be involved in negotiating compensation claims, to liaising with landowners and working on large new infrastructure projects.
In this role you will:
- Provide professional advice and recommendations on projects requiring land and property.
- Liaise with other professionals typically including legal advisers, architects, engineers, town planners and contractors.
- Plan and deliver detailed inspections of sites, analysing information from those visits.
- Negotiate solutions relating to legal issues regarding National Grid Schemes affecting land ownership and occupation. Including survey access, construction access and compensation settlements.

- GCSE’s in Maths & English at grade 5 or higher, at a minimum
- 3 A-Levels at Grade C or higher, or equivalent, at a minimum
