Higher Research Officer - Constitutional Affairs

We are recruiting a Higher Research Officer within the External and Constitutional Affairs Team which comprises a team leader, two senior researchers and two Higher Research Officers (including this post).
The purpose of this post is to provide impartial, independent, and expert research analysis on Constitutional Affairs.to support Senedd Members and committees and to publish articles to inform debate and aid understanding of the Senedd’s work.
The role of a Higher Research Officer involves understanding areas of devolved policy as well as having the ability to work flexibly, supporting senior researchers across a wide variety of subject areas.
You will need to have a good understanding and practical experience of research in at least one of the following policy areas: devolution, Constitutional Affairs or legislative affairs. An understanding of electoral or parliamentary processes would be an advantage. You will need to demonstrate excellent research skills. You will be expected to be flexible, work proactively with research colleagues across a range of policy areas and work across the whole Service providing support to teams where there is high demand.
You’ll be responding to requests from Senedd Members; preparing briefing for committees; creating digital content to be published via our social media channels and identifying opportunities for cross service working. You will have the opportunity to apply and develop your digital skills, including producing data visualisations, making interactive content, and learning and using coding skills.
