Highways Liaison Apprentice

Job Introduction

Our Highways and Transport Service deliver essential services for the people of Milton Keynes including highways maintenance, managing local bus services, and developing millions of pounds of transport infrastructure every year, plus much more.

We have some really significant projects to work on in the coming years, such as:

• Replacing street lighting to lower energy LEDs.
• A large-scale electric vehicle programme.
• Using AI and other technology to become even more efficient.
• Major road and cycling network projects.

Main Responsibility

• Assist and support the Highway Liaison Team in responding to customer enquiries, providing high levels of customer service.
• Assist with event management, communications and accurate and swift data management.
• The post holder will be required to complete an apprenticeship as part of this role.

The Ideal Candidate

• The ideal candidate will be required to have GCSEs Grade A-C in English and Maths or equivalent, as well as good IT and written skills.
• Organisation skills and the ability to speak to people at all levels within the organisation is also required.

Our roles are either designated ‘site based’ or ‘home based’. ‘Site based’ roles can include up to two days a week working from home whilst ‘home based’ roles are based at home four days a week.  Of course, managers designate which category roles are in based on the needs of the service and the circumstances.
