Rates: £100ph
Assignment: Long-term
The Opportunity:
We are urgently looking for NOMS-cleared GPs, particularly those with Substance Misuse 1 (and ideally substance misuse 2) qualification looking to do regular and ad-hoc locum shifts.

Our client provides quality healthcare for people in vulnerable circumstances. They work in partnership to provide primary care, substance misuse and sexual health services, in the community and in secure environments, including prisons and hospitals. As a not-for-profit social business, they are committed to addressing health inequalities and investing in the health and wellbeing of the communities they serve.
Across secure environments, our client works in partnership to provide comprehensive primary care services, including nursing and GPs, sexual health, substance misuse, podiatry, physiotherapy, optometry, mental health – whatever is needed. They look after patients physical and mental health, providing on-site healthcare wherever possible, and arranging for external healthcare when required.They also support patients to continue to be able to access the right healthcare services when patients return to the community.
The Role
As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, the HMP GP will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient prisoners.
You will be responsible for acute care and also for planned future care, including for patients suffering with chronic conditions.
You will be responsible for supporting junior healthcare staff and have an active involvement in clinical governance and management.
Sessions & shifts: The sessions will be full days; sometimes long days if available (Mondays-Sunday). The usual sessions run from 0900-1300 & 1330-1700, with 9 prisoners per session and some admin work (bloods/letters, etc.) with a 30/60-minute break.
Candidate Requirements
Fully qualified GP
NOMs cleared
Substance Misuse Part 1 (and ideally part 2)
Up to date with all mandatory training and immunisations
Recent DBS
