The People and Development (P&D) Branch is responsible for delivering all aspects of training to GMP personnel.
The branch delivers a comprehensive menu of training options and prides itself on the quality of service it provides, continually looking to improve and innovate.
Recognised as a centre of excellence, GMP trainers regularly train officers and staff from police forces across the country and overseas.
You will be responsible for the creation, amendment and delivery of a variety of Holmes 2 and Casualty Bureau training courses including Indexing, Reader/Receiving, Exhibits and Disclosure.
The training will include policy and procedure associated with using HOLMES 2 in a major investigation (MIRSAP). An excellent communicator at all levels, you must be able to deliver training in a classroom environment, assess performance and provide effective and constructive feedback. You will be capable of planning and administrating training courses and documenting the progress of delegates.
You will be a strong team player able to liaise with colleagues over training delivery and identifying opportunities for enhancing training methods, whilst maintaining the confidence to work independently where necessary.
The following essential criteria need not be evidenced as this will be gained as part of the training role:
• Successfully completed the HOLMES 2 course
• Knowledge of MIRSAP (Major Incident Room Standardised Administrative Procedures) in an operational environment.
