We are currently working in partnership with on of the most recognisable homeless charities in London.
They are currently recruiting for a Homeless Support Worker on a 2-month temporary contract. The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. They will pay a competitive hourly rate dependent on experience.
The client is looking for an empathic individual with excellent communications skills and an understanding of the challenges facing people who are homeless.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Managing a caseload of 10-15 clients across London
Responding to referrals to the service
Carrying out initial assessments
Creating individualised support plans and risk assessments for each service user
Signposting to outside organisations where necessary
Providing duty cover – answering referalls and manning the lone working device
Skills, knowledge and experience required:
Previous experience working with people who are homeless and have complex needs
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Good organisational and time management skills
Awareness of and ability to comply with relevant health and safety legislation
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Working hours:
37.5 hours per week
Monday - Friday 09:00 – 17:00
