An exciting opportunity awaits in the heart of Camden for a Hostel In-Reach Worker, someone with the skills and experience to engage with hostel residents and those rough sleeping who have complex needs and are on the pre-contemplative about engaging with treatment.
As a Hostel In-Reach Worker in our hostel in-reach team, you'll be an integral part of Camden's Integrated Drug & Alcohol Service and Camden's street-outreach team,working collaboratively to help individuals change the trajectory of their lives, grow as individuals, and embrace life's full potential.

Responsibilities:
Your role as a Hostel In-Reach Worker will involve working across Camden hostels, employing a multi-agency approach to engage individuals into activities. Collaborating with the Hostel In-Reach Lead to establish a program of activities, working towards building relationships and addressing Substance Misuse treatment when individuals are ready.
While paperwork and attention to detail are crucial for recording information, the majority of your time will be spent working with diverse individuals, making a real impact on their lives.

As a Hostel In-Reach Worker, you'll be a crucial part of our team, contributing to this life-changing journey. Essential skills for this role include curiosity, active listening, skilled practice, and a flexible approach.
Your role as a Hostel In-Reach Worker will involve working across Camden hostels, employing a multi-agency approach to engage individuals into activities. Collaborating with the Hostel In-Reach Lead to establish a program of activities, working towards building relationships and addressing Substance Misuse treatment when individuals are ready.
While paperwork and attention to detail are crucial for recording information, the majority of your time will be spent working with diverse individuals, making a real impact on their lives.
About the role:
- Establish a of a programme of activities for those living in hostels or those rough sleeping who are working with outreach teams, who are in pre-contemplation; with the aim over time to forge relationships and broach to subject of treatment when the individuals are ready.
- Develop and deliver activities to engage residents, delivering harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and person-centred, trauma-informed approaches when residents are ready.
- Manage a medium-sized caseload of hostel residents engaged in activities.
- Record all activities on CGL Camden and hostel systems, documenting service user journeys comprehensively.
- Support co-production initiatives, facilitating access to activities and events designed with service user input.
To be a excel in this role, you should possess:
- Demonstrable experience in substance misuse services with a clear understanding of psychosocial and clinical interventions.
- Experience supporting individuals facing multiple disadvantages, including drug and alcohol use, homelessness, offending, and mental ill health.
- Ability to confidently communicate with service users to be able to engage them into discussions about their treatment options, considering diversity and individual choice.
- Flexibility to work across hostels, responding to the demands of the post.
