Hotel Porter - (Seasonal) 14 per hour
Part time- 16 hours per week- Seasonal role until September 2024

Babington House...
Situated in a Grade II-listed manor built in 1705, Babington House is surrounded by 18 acres of English countryside in the heart of Somerset. Just 30 minutes from Bath, it's the ultimate countryside escape for rest, relaxation and seasonal dining. With 33 bedrooms spread across Babington's historic buildings, Cabins and Lodges, the club features a formal dining space in the Orangery, serving a unique menu centred around seasonal and local produce. There's also a cricket pitch and tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a gym and original Cowshed Spa.
The Role...
We are seeking a Hotel Porter to join our team at Babington House(BA11 3RW). As part of your role as a Hotel Porter you are responsible for transporting our guests in company vehicles, therefore this role requires a full UK driving licence and minimum applicant age of 25 due to insurance requirements.
Main duties...
- Taking guests luggage to be checked in at reception
- Carrying luggage while escorting guests to their rooms and carrying departing guests' luggage to cars or taxis
- Visible in Reception/Lobby area when not engaged in other tasks
- Parks and retrieves guest vehicles as well provides transfers when necessary
- Covering some night shifts during Night Porters absence
What we are looking for in a Hotel Porter...
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar role
- Team player who communicates well with all colleagues
- Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
- Sense of urgency
- Yes, yes, yes mentality
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Have a genuine passion for food and beverage
- Flexible and available to working both opening and closing shifts when required
Expected working hours for a Hotel Porter:
- Varying shift times across the seven days, to include working evenings, weekends, opens & closes
- Average hours 32-45 hours per week
- Seasonal position until September 2024
Travel: Approx. 30 minutes from Bath, 50 minutes from Bristol & 10 mins from Frome (No local transport from Frome)
