Housekeeper

• Are you an experienced Housekeeper, Cleaner, Domestic Assistant / equivalent?
• Do you have experience working as a Housekeeper, Cleaner, Domestic Assistant or equivalent within the NHS, healthcare or public sector sector?
• Do you have an understanding or working knowledge of COSHH regulations? (Desirable)
• Will you be available to work on a temporary basis expected to be for 3 months in East London, working up to 37.5 hours per week, covering various shift patterns during Monday - Sundays?
• If yes, and you were successful for this opportunity moving forward, would you be available to commence employment immediately or within 1 week (once compliant)?

Our client, a healthcare organisation based in East London are seeking to appoint several Housekeepers to join their team.

Hourly Pay Rates:

Monday to Friday, 6am-8pm - £12.00 per hour paye inclusive of holiday pay

Monday to Friday, 8pm-6am and Saturdays - £13.00 per hour paye inclusive of holiday pay

Sunday and Bank Holidays - £17.00 per hour paye inclusive of holiday pay

Working Days and Hours: Monday to Sunday, Various shifts, 37.5 hours

Duties

• Adhere to all cleaning schedules
• Suction clean floors, Damp mopping floor areas, including the removal of spillages as they occur
• Spray polish/buff floor areas with a mechanical buffer
• Hand scrubbing floor areas inaccessible to a machine
• Apply and remove floor polish when directed to do so
• Damp dusting furniture, fixtures and fittings, high and low dusting
• Wipe and clean cookers and microwaves
• Collecting and washing up crockery cutlery and serving dishes
• Cleaning ward/kitchen areas sink units, floors, work surfaces and cupboards etc.
• Emptying waste bins, etc. taking rubbish to the designated collection point
• Cleaning toilets wash hand basins, baths, showers, sanichairs and hoists, as required
• Replenishing paper hand towels, liquid soap and toilet paper on a daily basis
• Cleaning all internal glass
• Carry out Credits for Cleaning checks quality control checks
• Compliance with the Trust and Local health and safety requirements including COSHH, reporting potential hazards immediately
• Ensuring Trust and Local manual handling techniques are followed
• Comply with our client and local Infection control procedures
• Adhere to the colour coding policies
• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene
• Wear the uniform provided and personal protective equipment as specified
• Ensuring cleaning equipment is kept clean and in good working order, inspecting it on a regular basis
• Ensuring correct, economical and safe use of materials and equipment
• Reporting mechanical and other defects to management

Experience, Skills and Education

• Experience of working as a Housekeeper, Cleaner, Domestic Assistant or equivalent (preferably within the NHS, Healthcare or Public Sector)
• Working knowledge or an understanding of COSHH cleaning regulations (desirable)
• Good level of communication skills, with the ability to work well both independently and within a team
• To remain professional and be able to follow instruction, paying close attention to detail
