Housekeeper

Part Time Housekeeper. Perfect role for someone with caring responsibilities or an afternoon job.
5 days per week: Mon - Fri
2.5 hours per day: 8.30am - 11am
£20 / hour
This role can be a salaried role on an annual income of £13,000 per year (gross) paid monthly, It includes a pension, paid holidays and with an annual bonus on top.
A family of four (with a 7 & 1 year old) based in London Fields, Hackney, E8.

We are looking for a superbly organised, calm presence to join our home. Someone who is proud of their work and likes implementing better ways of doing things. We are a happy family of four with a nanny who has been with us since our 7 year old was born and a cleaner who comes bi-weekly. We are looking forward to welcoming a housekeeper who can help us keep our new house looking great and who can improve the way things are organised to make the house run even better. This is a live out role and you will need to live in the east or have an easy commute to the property to make the hours make sense for you.

Duties:
Every morning, you will clean and tidy the kitchen and take care of the laundry and make the beds. You will then tidy or organise one space or progress the house in some small way. This role is about maintaining the home between the cleaner's visits. It is also about finding ways each week, to make the home run better and be more organised.

- Manage all laundry including delicate items and careful management of colours, whites, darks. Organise wardrobes with smart systems and a logical layout and handling winter and summer wardrobe swap! Packing and unpacking from frequent trips.
- You will keep the kitchen clean and tidy
- Organise the home: we are looking for each room, cupboard and box of toys to be smartly organised not just tidied.
- Manage house supplies and handling weekly shopping online and in person. You will help us improve the sustainability of our home using bio products, refill suppliers, plastic free and local and organic produce where possible.
- Some co-ordinating and supervising of external suppliers (plumbers, gardner etc)
- Some odd jobs: dry cleaning, cobbler, managing external laundry services etc

Skills:
- You will be superbly organised and enjoy improving how things run.
- Attention to detail to ensure our home is kept to a very high standard.
- Knowledgeable about cleaning and maintaining a variety of delicate fabrics (silk, leather, cotton)
- Time management skills to get plenty done each morning that you are with us.
- Ability to work independently
- Proactive: bringing our attention to ways to improve things and do things smarter
- Good communication skills to interact with our family, nanny, cleaner and any guests or tradespeople
