Housekeeper- Full Time- Student Accommodation

We are looking for someone to join our Roost on a full-time permanent basis, with the successful candidate working 5 days out of 7 between 8am & 8pm. Our new Housekeeper will become a key part of our existing, friendly and experienced property team at our St MungosProperty in Glasgow.

The Site: St Mungo is having a team of 12 people consisting of management, housekeeping, maintenance, and customer service advisors, who cover weekday and weekend and day and night shifts. St Mungos is the perfect location for students studying at both the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian University, which are within walking distance of the property. For students at the University of Glasgow, public transport is available from Buchanan Bus Station, which is a 7-minute walk from the property. The vibrant city centre is also within walking distance.

St. Mungos is a property which boasts many social spaces and facilities, including a gym with the latest high-tech equipment, air-conditioning and surround sound, a cinema room with access to Netflix, Apple TV and Amazon Prime, outdoor garden and courtyard, and a hosting kitchen which is available for small gatherings or cooking classes. These facilities are available to use 24 hours a day. Located away from the social spaces in a separate area of the building is the study space, which provides a tranquil and calming area for residents to hit the books and study.

The property has 349 beds, comprising of 173 self-contained studio flats and 176 bedrooms housed within twenty-nine flats. Our cluster flats range from four beds to seven beds and have a spacious shared kitchen and living space. Our self-contained studios are ideal for students who like their own space.

As a housekeeper at Student Roost, you will join the rest of the onsite property team in being the face of Student Roost for our wonderful residents. The integral service youll provide is just one of the amazing ways that we keep customer service and safety at the top of our agenda.

Youll provide a first-class cleaning service within our purpose-built Student Accommodation, and ensure that all assigned areas are clean, neat and tidy. Youll have amazing attention to detail, so that your property is always looking sparkling and inviting. The pride you take in your work will be visible for all to see, so that our residents can be equally proud of their home away from home.

Psst… there are some challenges too

Clearing up after a fun weekend: We all like to have fun, and this is certainly true for our residents. There may be a requirement for you to clear up common space that has been partied in over the weekend. This is not the most fun job, but you will be provided with full PPE as we want to make sure you are being kept safe.

Summer turnaround: This is when our residents leave us and its the busiest time in our calendar. It can involve clearing out residents rooms, checking the contract cleaners are doing their jobs, and just generally helping out.

Within…

1 month You will start to understand the culture and values of Student Roost. You will know your team members and what makes them tick. Youll have an understanding of the calendar of requirements of your property and be starting to find your rhythm of working.

3 months You will have met and built strong high-quality relationships with our people, residents, and colleagues. Youll be working autonomously for large parts of your working schedule and managing your own tasks. Youll have successfully developed a routine with the rest of the team on site, and youll be confident in your remit.

6 monthsYou will be well underway to being settled. Youll be confident in bringing new ideas to the team and listening to suggestions from others. Youll have a strong understanding of your compliance responsibilities and be taking the lead on these activities. Youll have an amazing reputation within your property as someone who is always willing to help.
