Housekeeper/Cook

Live in or Live out Housekeeper/ Cook Job, Oxford

We have a great position for an experienced Housekeeper/Cook to take care of a stunning manor house on a rural estate in Oxfordshire. This is a large property with lots of antiques, wood silver and brass, and delicate fabrics to take care of. The principals have two grown-up children who visit on occasion with their family for the weekend and over the school holidays. The family has a small Dog so you must be dog-friendly. Also employed at the property are Gardeners, a Handyman a Housemanager, and a part-time Housekeeper who you will need to liaise with. The principal also has a property in the Cotswolds which you may be required to assist with from time to time. The principal has client meetings at home a couple of times a week which you would need to prepare food for and serve alongside the House manager. They like to eat healthy foods preferably organic.

• Household care, cleaning, organising, and managing.
• Laundry and ironing.
• Silver polishing and care for the family china.
• Cleaning and caring for household valuables including art and rugs.
• Flower arranging and table setting with flowers from the garden.
• Laying fires, cleaning the fireplaces
• Preparing for the arrival of visitors, welcoming them, and caring for their various needs.
• Cooking typically lunch and dinner
• Catering for up to 10 on occasion
• Making household purchases, food/grocery orders, and deliveries.
• Table service formal and informal alongside the House manager
• Care of the family dog

Start date: From the beginning of February

Working week: Monday - Friday Typically Split shifts when the principal is in residence 8-2 with a 3 /4 hour break then 6-8 some very occasional weekend work when they have guests

Monday - Friday when the family are not in Residence 8 - 5 with a 1 hour break 40 hours per week overtime with be given as time off in lieu

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 gross per annum. Negotiable depending on experience

Accommodation: Large accommodation Separate to the main house
