SalaryDue to increasing demand from local families for day places at Uppingham, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Housemaster / Housemistress to play a key role running our new Day House which will open in September 2024.
The new Day House will be exclusively for day pupils - sixty girls and sixty boys – and as Housemaster / Housemistress you will ensure the house offers pupils the same immersive and rich experience of Uppingham as our fifteen boarding houses.
You will run the house resourcefully and creatively, delivering an outstanding boarding experience, including a comprehensive health and welfare service, ensuring each pupil is given a sense of community, inclusion, safety and security.
Although demanding, the role is intensely rewarding. Balancing house needs with the demands of wider school activities (academic and social) requires flexibility and co-operative working with colleagues outside the boarding environment.
You will also be crucial to ensuring the staff within the boarding house team are motivated, engaged, trained, supported and competent to deliver the very best care and support to our pupils.
If you are a strong, dynamic character with warmth and charisma, pastoral experience, and experience of house management, we will be delighted to hear from you.
