Housing Advisor

Elevate projects are working in partnership with a valued client to appoint a Housing Advisor to join there Housing options and Homelessness team. Key responsibilities:

• Face to face working with customers. 
• Day drop in for homeless, and offering telephone advice. 
• Providing direct one-one advice
• Attend professional meetings 
• Visit supported housing applicants 
• Supporting applicants to work in partnership with multiple agencies 
• Create personal housing plans for each applicant based on assessment. 

Experience's and key skills required:

• A good understanding of homelessness legislation, including the homeless reduction act. 
• A wider knowledge of social housing, welfare reform and local government. 
• Excellent IT skills 
• Ability to manage complex and varied work load, in occasional demanding times. 
• Great communication with applicant, landlords and professionals 
• Ability to motivate applicants to take active steps to prevent their own homelessness or find alternative accommodation.
