Role overview
College Green Group acts as the Secretariat for several new Parliamentary Liaison Groups (PLGs). We are looking for a team member to help grow our existing PLGs and lead in the establishment of new groups. You must have excellent knowledge of the workings of lobbying groups and the British political system. You will serve as the primary point of contact on a day to day basis for PLG stakeholders, and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of services against briefs and plans. You will be focused on delivering results for the stakeholders in line with contractual agreements, within allocated timeframes and budgets.
Primary responsibilities
- Building and managing relationships with key stakeholders/clients
- Identifying and engaging new stakeholders
- Media relations
- Monitoring parliamentary proceedings to identify key opportunities for legislative and spoken interventions
- Completing PLG reports to a high standard of integrity, accuracy, content and visual presentation
- Writing and production of policy-focused briefings
- Organising PLGs events (including AGMs and roundtables both virtual and in person)
- Engagement of Parliamentarians
- Responsibility for managing the PLG budget and following agreed accounting procedure and record-keeping
- Working closely with colleagues at all stages of the client journey, from researching prospective stakeholders and sectors, and ensuring continued client satisfaction and delivery of results
- Ability to lead meetings, including with senior politicians and senior business leaders, and to ensure that meetings are productive and clearly documented with action points and timeframes
- A good working knowledge of the main social media networks and platforms for business and political campaigns
- Undertaking research tasks to a consistently high standard
- Networking, with a view to building the College Green Group brand, reputation and relational reach
- Any other duties as reasonably required by a member of the SMT
