About the Post:
0.5 FTE post 18.5 hours per week working Monday, Tuesday, and alternative Wednesdays.
The Housing and Welfare Team is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and committed individual, to support the management of temporary accommodation units. You will work alongside the Housing Officer for temporary accommodation ensuring the properties well maintained and managed, voids are turned around quickly, and tenants receive the right support and guidance and are assisted to move into more permanent accommodation.
The role of Housing Assistant is busy and varied including tasks such as such as:
- Visiting temporary accommodation properties across the borough
- Assisting with getting empty properties ready for re letting
- Working with the tenants offering advice and assistance and responding to any enquiries
- updating and maintaining computerised systems,
- assisting in the monitoring, and analysing of performance data,
- processing referrals, signposting, and liaising with other services.
- Face to face contact; Phone and email contact with the public, including those who are vulnerable and complex.
This role requires a person with excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with members of the public, prioritise and monitor workloads to meet deadlines and work in partnership with colleagues or on your own initiative according to demands. A level 3 qualification is required.
