An opportunity is available for 2 Housing Management Officers to work for a local authority in central Southampton within the homelessness unit.
This role is to start Monday 12th February on a 3 month contract with potential to be extended.
Working hours Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00 all office based.
Hourly pay 18.06.
Job Duties:
- Interview and investigate all claims of homelessness from households applying for assistance
- Obtain detailed information on their housing, financial, social and health circumstances, both past and present
- Make appropriate enquiries and visits to addresses - you must be able to travel around the city to access all types of accommodation
- Mediate between customers and their housing providers when at risk of homelessness
- Provide statutory advice and assistance to clients, and owner occupiers on matters relating to homelessness, housing advice, landlord/tenancy relations and mortgages
- Issue customers with detailed, accurate written housing plans regarding their situation
- Record and maintain confidential case notes and client records on IT systems
- Write reports, referrals, letters and risk assessments on behalf of clients from meetings, conferences and court
Candidate Requirements:
- You MUST have experience and knowledge of Homelessness legislation
- Administration experience
- Being on the telephone frequently
- Computer literate
