About The Role
You will be responsible for leading a team of Housing Options Officers, coaching and developing employees to help them perform their duties to their full potential.
You will ensure we help and support customers to solve their housing problem through the provision of good quality advice and support.
You will be responsible for ensuring an effective and consistent approach to case management is undertaken throughout the team, which supports customers to make informed choices about their Housing Options and keeps them informed about their case.
You will continually review the processes and flow of work to understand the demand coming into the service and the challenges and make proposals for change where appropriate.
You will provide assistance and support with complex cases, customer complaints, MP and Member queries, reviews and disputes.
About You
You’ll need excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate a team working in a challenging and complex service.
You’ll be able to role model exemplary customer services and support the team to improve performance and service provision where required.
You’ll need to have excellent knowledge of legislation pursuant to the role, including a thorough and detailed understanding of Part 6 and Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. You should therefore have a recognised housing qualification, or a proven track record in housing or related profession along with a willingness to undertake a housing qualification should it be required.
The role requires someone who can work under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and workloads for themselves and others.
A good political awareness is vital, along with excellent ICT skills.
