Major Recruitment Oldbury are delighted to be recruiting for a Housing Registration officer for a local public sector organisation located in the Oldbury area.
Hours of work are 37 hours per week- flexible working arrangements apply to meet the business needs of the service.
This role will be to provide a flexible, person centred approach to support clients who are requesting housing and who have complex, multiple needs. To provide support to enable clients to resolve their housing issue, consider all options available. establish and maintain relationships with applicants to ensure that where appropriate the housing applicants is progressed in a timely manner and registered once all information is made available.
Duties and tasks will include:
- To consider housing applicants who are requesting housing and require support to ensure that their application is dealt with appropriately and a holistic approach is taken.
- Collect and collate information from a variety of resources to ensure decisions can be made on a complex housing cases.
This could include the following,
- Clients with mental health issues
- Households with complex health/disability issues who require specialist accommodation/ major adaptations
- Young people leaving care
- Armed forces personnel with urgent housing needs
Duties and tasks will also include:
- To receive Housing Solution enquiries in person, by telephone, via digital formats and in writing from customers, colleagues, members, agencies, partners and to resolve first time where ever possible.
- Investigate and respond to enquiries/complaints from clients and/or stakeholders. This may include Councillors, MPs, Voluntary Agencies, customers or Advocates.
- Prepare cases for Review Panel & undertake and participate in considering requests for a review of decisions made relating to the Housing Allocations Policy
- Prepare reports, letters and assessments as required
Candidates welcome to apply must have the following;
- Proven qualitative experience of dealing with the public face to face.
- Experience in dealing with complex issues over the telephone.
- Experience of using modern ICT packages.
- Knowledge of standards and good practice in customer services.
- Willingness to work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
