Housing Standards Manager

About the Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to hit the ground running and be the lead officer to Manage the Council's Housing Standards services and drive forward improvements to private sector housing across the borough.

About the candidate:

You will need to be an energetic and inspirational leader, ready to inspire a multi-disciplinary team of 27 to deliver wide ranging services to an excellent standard.

We are looking for an innovative and creative manager with excellent communication skills and experience in the delivery of private sector housing services, but also someone who is keen for the responsibility to put your own stamp on how the service can be further developed.

You will have a detailed, in-depth understanding of the legal and technical requirements of the service and a proven track record of managing or supervising areas as diverse as Home Improvements, Empty Properties, Selective Licensing, HMOs, Enforcement and Healthy Homes services; You will ensure that Housing Standards programmes are successfully implemented, monitored and delivered on time and within the capital programme budget available and that Housing Standards across the borough continue to improve with the right interventions.
