Our client has an opportunity for a Housing Support Officer to join their friendly and supportive Housing Customer Experience team to assist their customers in getting the most out of their tenancy.
The role
As a Housing Support Officer, you will support new and existing customers who may need additional assistance in managing their tenancy. You will work with their customers to improve their emotional / physical wellbeing and help them to access digital services as well as provide energy advice. You will also assist customers with identifiable domestic cleaning issues (including hoarding). With excellent communication skills you will liaise with internal colleagues and external agencies to ensure the best customer experience.
What they are looking for
Experience of working in a support capacity within a people centred environment
A good understanding of the principles of practice in working with vulnerable people
Good problem solving and negotiation skills
Good IT skills and an understanding of needs and risk assessment
The ability to work with service-users, colleagues, families and individuals from external agencies
Willingness to participate in learning events and undertake a formal qualification e.g. NVQ 3 Health & Social Care
You must also hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle with appropriate vehicle insurance.
