Housing Support Worker

Adferiad Recovery delivers a new, flexible, and co-ordinated response to the exceptional circumstances faced by people with co-occurring mental health and substance misuse conditions and related issues. We harness the talents and experience of our founding and long-established leading Welsh Charities CAIS, Hafal, and WCADA in their fields, enabling our projects to meet the needs of our most vulnerable with a single, unified, and comprehensive approach.
Contract: 30 hours per week (a flexible shift pattern), Permanent
Salary: £21,507.75 per annum (pro rata) (£11.00 per hour)
Holidays: 25 days per year plus 8 public holidays (pro rata)

Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Service Manager, you will work as part of a team or lone working to support and improve the lives of people with serious mental illness. By contributing to the delivery of Adferiad Recovery’s Registered Services in Pembrokeshire, in line with our commitment to principles of empowerment, self-management and recovery and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards inspection and regulation (including CIW).

Pembrokeshire Housing services have been developed in partnership with Pembrokeshire County Council Hywel Dda and Pembrokeshire Housing Support Grant Team.
Adferiad’s Support Accommodation project staff support individuals with a serious mental illness. The housing services are temporary supported move on accommodation projects and the support is delivered either in shared accommodation, supported housing setting in Haverfordwest or in people’s own homes in the locality.
Pembrokeshire Supported Accommodation projects include a 24 hour shared supported accommodation to six occupants who are diagnosed as experiencing a serious mental illness and have been assessed as needing high levels of support to help with their recovery. Adferiad provides individuals support in a second shared house where people receive a lower level of housing related support and thirdly, Adferiad support clients who live in the five additional one bedroom flats in the locality.
The aim of the Adferiad staff team is to encourage and enable clients to reach a greater level of independence over a reasonable period of time, and then to facilitate their move on to more independent living in the community.
The service is staffed 7 days a week, 24 hours per day with on-site waking nights, sleep-in cover and staff are on a shift pattern rota which includes unsocial hours.
