Job description

You’ll deal with a full range of human resources matters to support business objectives. You’ll provide advice that is consistent with employer policies/procedures, employment law, best practice, and which meets statutory requirements and agreed service standards.
There is a strong focus on casework but you will also be involved in updating policy, organisational change projects and responding to telephone or email queries.
You’ll represent the Schools and Traded Services HR Team at a range of meetings, consultations, interviews and hearings (including sickness, gross misconduct/dismissal).
You will join a small, committed team and be required to travel to school sites. Some of the work can be done remotely but a regular office presence each week is also expected.
About you
We are looking for someone with a background within a personnel/HR environment providing an advisory and/or support role.
Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate effectively with and influence a wide range of people at all levels including headteachers, governors and other senior managers.
You’ll have pride in your ability to deliver effective presentations and training to managers and employees, use computerised HR systems, apply your knowledge of employment law and remain up to date with changes in legislative and statutory guidance.
We do ask that you are a professionally qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, working towards this or hold an equivalent qualification or equivalent experience.
This is a public facing role so you will need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
