Due to our continued growth, we are recruiting an experienced HR Advisor based in Aberdeen, UK to expand our HR/People team. This role will use expertise in employment law and best practice to ensure all HR matters are managed in a robust and fair manner while championing HR policies, procedures, and tools to deliver a consistent approach across the Company.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional advice, guidance and support to management and employees in all HR aspects, from onboarding to end of employment, including end to end management of employment relation cases adhering to employment laws of the respective country and business requirements.
  • Support the Senior HR Advisor with the management of the Company’s Group Benefits schemes for all business entities.
  • Champion and ensure appraisal and succession planning tools are fully utilised to ensure the business has the capacity and talent to achieve immediate and strategic ambitions.
  • Coaching and mentoring managers, where appropriate, in best practices.
  • Support management when embedding organisational design, ensuring the Company has a robust business structure that maximises competitive edge in response to market conditions.
  • Champion and utilise the HR system to maintain employee records and enhance the employee experience.
  • Collaborate with the wider People department, including Talent Acquisition, Resourcing and Training to ensure a seamless service delivery.
  • Promote employee engagement by supporting and leading initiatives that are identified as part of annual employee surveys and focussing on improvements identified and required actions.
  • Support the business to provide advice, guidance and management of visa requirements and sponsorship licenses.
  • Support with developing and updating HR policies and processes in accordance with employment laws of the respective country and, where possible, adopting a uniformed approach across the regions
  • Actively develop and introduce innovative people solutions to create a workplace of choice and encourage retention.
  • Be an active member within the HR team by proactively participating within the role’s areas of responsibility while also communicating and keeping other members of the HR team appraised of issues and progress.
  • Provide support and ongoing guidance and advice to other team members as appropriate, including interaction, training, mentoring, and coaching of the HR Coordinator to increase individual and team effectiveness.


Qualification and Experience:

  • Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to a dynamic environment across multiple time zones.
  • Accountability for dealing with confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Professional work ethic with high level of personal integrity.
  • Degree qualified in HR, or related qualification.
  • CIPD accreditation (desirable).
  • Relevant experience in HR Advisor or Business Partner roles, preferably on an international level.
  • Considerable knowledge and expertise of UK employment law and employee relations, desirable to also have knowledge of Texas and Singapore employment law.
  • Desirable to have an understanding of the subsea survey/construction industry and its associated technical disciplines.
  • Previous experience of HR role in the Oil and Gas/Energy industry.
  • Previous experience of mentoring/coaching less experienced members of the team.
