HR Apprentice

My name is Annabelle Nolan, Senior HR business partner and I am looking for a HR Apprentice to join our great HR team in the UK. You will be located in our Teesside office where our main activities are coordinated.

In this role you will learn everything regarding HR from the ground up. This role will expose you to the entire employee life cycle and other intricacies such as being part of union related discussions.

At Svitzer, no two days are the same and as a part of the UK HR Team, you will work in an inspiring environment working alongside experienced HR professionals and other commercial professionals within the wider company.

Alongside your college work responsibilities, you will also have key responsibilities within your role, such as:

• Support the HRBP department with administrative duties.
• Minute taking during key meetings such as Investigations, disciplinaries, union discussions.
• Be a part of HR project work that is ongoing throughout the year.
• Maintain the HRBP SharePoint data.
• Review documents for spelling and grammar errors. Ensure the document’s format is in alignment with Svitzer document guidelines.

Who are we looking for:

• Ability to meet the entry requirements of the level 3 apprentice course attached to this apprenticeship and to attend and undertake the studying and course work required to complete the course.
• Educated to at least GCSE standard, with fives passes at Grade C (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
• Good IT Skills: ability to use Microsoft office packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• High level of attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Driven and self-motivated
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Able to work collaboratively.
• Able to work on own initiative, sometimes under pressure and to tight deadlines.

In return of the above, you will be mentored by the HR team throughout your tenure as a HR apprentice. Ability to take part in a wide range of HR activities which will broaden your HR skills and knowledge at a fast rate in comparison to other companies.
