Job description

35 hours per week (1 FTE) Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Leave Cover) Working as part of the Human Resources Team, you will support the Head of Human Resources to deliver a comprehensive, professional and proactive HR service to aligned business areas. Acting as a point of contact for employees and managers, you will provide advice and guidance on a range of employee relations matters in line with UHI Inverness’s policies and procedures, best practice, and current legislation. Working in partnership with the other HR Business Partners, you will build capabilities, plan and manage approaches that continue to improve business excellence to ensure that we continue to develop as a modern tertiary institution underpinned by our ambition and culture. Key responsibilities include: Business Partnering Recruitment and Talent Management Employee Relations and Casework HR KPI’s and Quality Improvement Staff Training Projects The ideal candidate will have substantial generalist, practical, front line HR experience with a solid understanding of the many different responsibilities of the function. This will include experience of coordinating, managing and resolving a diverse caseload including absence management, grievance, discipline and performance improvement. It is essential that you have knowledge and understanding of current and upcoming employment law and best practice. It is also essential that you have experience of using and utilising an HR system and an ability to extract, manipulate, interpret, present and appropriately act upon management information. Applicants will have the ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively at all levels. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload to meet department deadlines whilst ensuring that all work is of a professional standard. Successful candidates will hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification (SCQF Level 9) or equivalent in a relevant discipline and/or relevant experience. Please note the successful post holder will need to pass a satisfactory PVG scheme membership prior to commencing employment.
