Job description

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our HR team based in either Chesterfield or Peterborough.
We would like to talk to you if you have strong data and excel experience. No HR experience is necessary although any appreciation would be advantageous!

The key purpose of this role is to support the HR Data & Analytics Manager in the delivery of HR data and insights for the Markerstudy group, ensuring accuracy, governance, and a single source of truth for HR data and metrics.
What you'll be doing?

  • Support the Data and Analytics manager with implementing reporting on all HR metrics through Excel (current) and Power BI (development), working with stakeholders to obtain requirements to build and design reports and continuously improve.
  • Assist with the production of scheduled and ad-hoc reports to a high standard, within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensuring access and data accuracy within the HR System (SDWorx), through routine audit and validation exercises, determining and communicating out standardisation rules and best practice, carrying out corrective actions.
  • Responsible for updating the SDWorx with any changes to employee data as communicated by the business.
  • Working with stakeholders, develop a pipeline of opportunities and then use HR data to provide deep analytics and insight.
  • Identify and develop improvements to HR processes and reporting, supporting the team in implementing any system changes.
  • Ensure compliance to Data Governance rules, such as GDPR and document retention.
  • Provide information and advice to employees and managers on data-related queries, acting as a key point of contact for the HR data team.
  • Develop and maintain a bank of self-service reports available to the HR team and wider business.


What you'll need to be successful in the role?

  • Confidence working with large and complex data sets.
  • Good stakeholder management skills to ensure delivery of high quality outputs that meet requirements within an agreed timeframe (e.g. communication, problem-solving, leadership, relationship-management, conflict-resolution, agile methodology)
  • Ability to present data and information in a clear, high-quality format.
  • Experienced and highly competent MS Excel user.
  • High level of attention to detail, to ensure an accurate efficient service is always delivered.
  • Experience of working in a high-pressure fast-paced environment.
  • Work on own initiative and as part of a team, with the ability to organise own workload and tasks.
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • A willing, helpful attitude and calm professional manner.
