OVERVIEW:


We seek a high-performing HR Manager who will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and growth of our organisations most important and valued asset – our people. You will be accountable for delivering the operational elements of our strategic plan and ensuring the day-to-day operations of the HR function are running efficiently and effectively. We’re looking for someone with experience of working in a busy HR team who is as passionate about making a difference as they are about giving great customer service and building relationships across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of People, you will be responsible for providing professional Generalist HR advice to Colleagues and Managers at Butcher’s Pet Care ensuring the highest level of customer service. You will be managing ER Casework, supporting on-site recruitment, and completing transactional HR activity in line with the colleague life cycle.


WHAT YOU’LL BE UP TO:

 

Employee Relations


·        Supporting managers in all aspects of people management including discipline, grievance, absence management and the entire employee life cycle.

·        Working closely with Managers on site and providing sound HR Advice whilst providing coaching and guidance to help them become stronger managers.

·        Supporting Managers and Colleagues in managing absence, including liaising with Occupational Health, reviewing and reporting absence data on a weekly and monthly basis.

·        Keeping up to date with changes in employment law legislation / best practice and implementing this in the workplace.

·        Play a key role in driving cultural change alongside our leadership team, contributing to a workplace that thrives on innovation and collaboration.

·        Support the development and delivery of the Site Engagement Strategy.

·        Attending and supporting colleague ways of working meetings and listening groups

·        Help support the People Team on dealing with all queries into HR, both face to face and through the People Support mailbox, responding, allocating tasks and managing resolution.

Performance Management:

·        Contribute to the development and execution of our People strategy, influencing recruitment practices, disciplinary procedures, training, and more.

·        Support with continuous skills development at all levels.

·        Work closely with People Management to ensure strategy is communicated, rolled out and maintained.

·        Manage the performance review processes, including performance appraisals, goal setting, and development plans.

·        Collaborate with both the management and training team to aid in the delivery of site training, ensuring that training requirements are recognised and suitable measures are implemented.

·        Maintain accurate records and provide support in addressing performance-related issues.

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:


·        It is essential that you have Generalist HR experience gained within a manufacturing or similar fast paced environment. Equipped to tackle both operational and strategic challenges with a pragmatic and commercially sound approach.

·        Capable of thinking strategically while understanding operational details, bringing a powerful combination of vision and execution.

·        Adept at adapting to change in a fast-paced environment, showcasing a strong sense of personal responsibility.

·        You will ideally be qualified to level 5 of the CIPD or above/equivalent or ideally be studying towards your CIPD or have the desire to do so.

·        Possess a strong working knowledge of employment law and current legislation, with expertise in areas such as redundancy.

·        Experience of working with, advising and challenging Managers.

·        Proven planning and organisational skills.

·        A pro-active approach to problem solving / implementing improvements with the ability to spot and deal with issues and opportunities as they occur.

·        Excellent attention to detail with a right first-time attitude.

·        Results focused.

·        Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to persuade, influence and when appropriate, challenge with tact and diplomacy.

·        Conscientious and self-motivated.

·        Team orientated.

·        Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office) and working knowledge of HR Management Systems (Databases / Time and Attendance, ATS etc).
