Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Human Resources Non-Executive Board Director of behalf of their client Squash Wales (SQW).

In order to continue the development of squash in Wales and beyond towards the Los Angeles Olympics, Squash Wales is seeking to appoint a Human Resources Non-Executive Director to its Board, complementing the skills mix within the Board.

Previous board experience is not essential, and an induction and onboarding process is in place for those joining a board for the first time. We are particularly open to expressions of interest from candidates who have not previously served in a board role but who can demonstrate the skills and competencies necessary to contribute to Squash Wales's strategic objectives, particularly as related to people management within a small organisation.

Board Roles

Board roles are non-salaried, but travel and any other reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed for attendance at official meetings and events on behalf of Squash Wales. The time commitment is variable throughout the year, but it is expected Board member are available to advise paid staff within their area of expertise and formally commit to attending four annual board meetings, three of which are held online. One meeting per year (normally September), is held in person in Cardiff. The initial term of office is 4 years.

Board members provide specialist advice and support using their professional skills to benefit the organisation. By taking an active role on the Board, they will work with other Board members, as well as the Office & Business Manager and Director of Performance and Participation to manage Squash Wales with excellence and assist with the delivery our strategy.

An in-depth knowledge or playing experience of Squash is not an essential requirement for this role.

Er mwyn parhau i ddatblygu sboncen yng Nghymru a thu hwnt tuag at y Gemau Olympaidd yn Los Angeles, mae Sboncen Cymru eisiau penodi Cyfarwyddwr Anweithredol Adnoddau Dynol i'w Fwrdd, i ategu'r gymysgedd o sgiliau ar y Bwrdd.

Nid yw profiad blaenorol ar fwrdd yn hanfodol ac mae proses sefydlu ac ymuno â bwrdd yn ei lle ar gyfer y rhai sy'n ymuno â bwrdd am y tro cyntaf. Rydym yn arbennig o agored i ddatganiadau o ddiddordeb gan ymgeiswyr sydd heb wasanaethu mewn rôl bwrdd o'r blaen ond sy'n gallu dangos y sgiliau a'r cymwyseddau angenrheidiol i gyfrannu at amcanion strategol Sboncen Cymru, yn enwedig mewn perthynas â rheoli pobl o fewn sefydliad bychan.

Swyddogaethau'r Bwrdd

Nid oes cyflog ar gyfer swyddogaethau'r Bwrdd ond bydd costau teithio ac unrhyw dreuliau rhesymol eraill yn cael eu had-dalu am fynychu cyfarfodydd a digwyddiadau swyddogol ar ran Sboncen Cymru. Mae'r ymrwymiad amser yn amrywio drwy gydol y flwyddyn, ond disgwylir i aelodau'r Bwrdd fod ar gael i gynghori staff cyflogedig yn eu maes arbenigedd ac ymrwymo'n ffurfiol i fynychu pedwar cyfarfod bwrdd blynyddol, gyda thri o'r rhain yn cael eu cynnal ar-lein. Cynhelir un cyfarfod y flwyddyn (ym mis Medi fel arfer) wyneb yn wyneb yng Nghaerdydd. Y tymor gwasanaethu cychwynnol yw 4 blynedd.

Mae aelodau'r Bwrdd yn darparu cyngor a chefnogaeth arbenigol gan ddefnyddio eu sgiliau proffesiynol er budd y sefydliad. Drwy gymryd rôl weithredol ar y Bwrdd, byddant yn gweithio gydag aelodau eraill o'r Bwrdd, yn ogystal â'r Rheolwr Swyddfa a Chyllid a'r Cyfarwyddwr Perfformiad a Chyfranogiad, i reoli Sboncen Cymru gyda rhagoriaeth a chynorthwyo i gyflawni ein strategaeth.
