It’s an exciting time to join East Devon District Council’s HR Team in this key role, which will lead on our operational HR service delivery and be part of the Human Resource Service’s Management Team. With a new Chief Executive and a focus on cultural and organisational change, the role will work closely with the Corporate Lead, HR Business Partners and other HR colleagues in supporting the organisation with its ambitions.
The role will oversee operational case work, advising and supporting colleagues and managers, ensure that the Council’s HR policies align with legal and organisational requirements and be responsible for the further development of our successful business partner model.
About you
We’re looking for a professionally qualified HR generalist who has a track record of advising and working on a range of HR casework including employee relations and organisational change activity. Management experience and the ability to lead and support HR colleagues is essential as is the ability to work with a range of stakeholders to influence and secure excellent people management practice.
Strong communication and organisation skills are essential. Previous experience of working within a public sector and unionised environment is helpful, but not essential.
