Job description

 Health, Safety & Environmental Manager

The Role:

Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join their team on a full-time basis. Working in partnership with some of the biggest names in the automotive, public transport, off-highway and leisure sectors they produce a wide variety of products via a complete range of processes. This exciting role would be working across two sites and will play a crucial part in driving success through promoting safe and environmental working practices predominately within the Workshop whilst always ensuring outstanding customer service. With demonstrable experience as a HSE leader, you'll have a good mix of health, safety, environment and sustainability policy and legislative competence, ideally gained within the automotive sector but candidates from other industry sectors will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for Health and Safety Compliance in all aspects of the business (Risk Assessments, Audits & Inspections, Documentation, Investigations, training etc.)
  • Ensuring employee safety training
  • Developing a culture of continual improvement and best practice in H&S matters
  • Maintaining the ISO45001 & ISO14001 system & accreditation
  • Mentoring H&S Reps and Committee
  • Advice & reporting to senior leadership team
  • Responsibility for Environmental Compliance in all aspects of the business
  • Accountable for employee environmental training
  • Developing a culture of continual improvement and best practice in environmental matters

Person Specification:

  • Willingness to be hands on with a "can do" attitude.
  • NEBOSH qualified minimum - Graduate member of IOSH desirable
  • Qualified trainer (desirable)
  • Trained internal auditor (desirable)
  • Previous experience of a similar role
  • Excellent communicator and people skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Self-starter and well organised.
  • Enjoys a dynamic environment.

Hours and Pay:

  •         circa £50,000 DOE
  •         Electric company car/car allowance
  •         37 hour week across 2 sites
