We have partnered with a global leading manufacturing organisation, based in Birmingham who are currently seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join their business. You will be responsible for continuing to drive health, safety and environmental standards forward across the site.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a global organisation, who have a strong name in their field and are looking to appoint an engaging and proactive individual, to take their HSE to the next level. You will have great support from the Managing Director, who is looking for someone to bring HSE to forefront and take people along on that journey.
The Role of HSE Manager:
- You will continually identify where improvements can be made, by carrying out audits and identifying trends and putting necessary actions in place.
- As well as promoting a positive Health and Safety culture across the business, you will provide day to day Health and Safety advice to the business.
- You will be involved with carrying out accident investigations, risk assessments, audits, providing training, developing management systems and keeping abreast of new regulations
- Monitoring and developing Health and Safety performance within the business, ensuring standards and company objectives are met
- You will organize HSE training for our employees involved in HSE improvement projects, from preparation to implementation
- Provide leadership to the Environmental & Sustainability officer and the HSE Coordinator
The HSE Manager Candidate:
- Degree Level Diploma (Health & Safety NEBOSH, NCRQ or NVQ level 6 or (NVQ 5 working towards 6)
- Certified (ex-Graduate) member of IOSH
- 5 year's experience in manufacturing
- You will be a strong communicator and can positively influence the local safety culture
- You have experience in dealing with change in an organization
- Experience with regulators
- You have experience in handling and implementing safety programs
- Contractor management experience
- Training experience at all levels
- Chartered Membership of IOSH or working towards would be desirable
- Experience in foundry and heavy metal industry
- CDM site management experience of contractors
- Lead Auditor ISO45001, ISO14001
- Environmental training
- First Aider / Mental Health First Aider / Emergency Management experience would be desirable
