SalaryCherry Professional are currently working with a well established Manufacturing company. As the HSE Officer you will Implement proactive Safety, Health and Environment improvement activities leading and challenging operational management to maintain high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Chair SHEQ Committee meetings.
- Carrying out the duties of Senior Fire Marshall and First Aider and manage the Fire Marshalls and first aiders.
- Carrying out the duties of a Radiation Protection Supervisor.
- Ad hoc projects as requested by the line Manager
- Manage the new starter HSE inductions ensuring H&S standards and information is given to all new staff to promote a good H&S culture.
- Completing all HSE customer questionnaires
- Complete the annual contractor H&S accreditations on behalf of the Company
- Review HSE training requirements/records and take corrective action where needed
- Managing the waste management company and collation of documentation in accordance with ISO (phone number removed) requirements.
- Review of data from Waste disposal companies, to identify areas for improvements.
- Managing the on-site and field risk assessments and method statements ensuring they are completed to a high standard and assessments are reviewed on a regular basis.
- Work closely with managers to complete corrective actions, carry out improvements and audit results.
- Managing COSHH register and associated documentation. Advise on chemical safety
Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety
- Minimum NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management or IEMA Foundation Environmental Management
- Previous health and safety and environmental experience
- Good communication skills to liaise at different levels
- Attention to detail
