Salary - Negotiable Dependent on Experience
Location - Dungannon
Hours - Monday - Thursday 7am - 4:30pm Friday - 7am - 12:30pm

Purpose of the HSE Officer role:
Our client is looking for a HSE Officer to assist the Health and Safety, Environmental Manager in implementing and maintaining an effective health and safety management programme which protects staff, contractors, and visitors. You will be responsible for advising the business of appropriate procedures, and an acting Health and safety ambassador for the business.
Main duties and responsibilities of a HSE Officer:
. Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
. Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas on health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
. Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
. Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, and recommended improvements implemented.
. Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
. Assist the HSE manager with a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
. Establish a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the Company.
. Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.
. Provide regular reports to the Human Resources Manager, Board of Directors/Senior Management Team on relevant health and safety activities.

Experience/knowledge requirements for a HSE Officer:
. 2 years minimum experience in a HSE role within a manufacturing environment.
. Qualified in a Health, Safety or Environmental Discipline.
. Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
. Experience gathering, analysing and reporting on key H&S data/statistics.
. Professional approach coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
. Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
. Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
. Strong IT skills and proficient in Microsoft packages.
. Ability to work on own initiative.
