Location: Blackwell, Derbyshire, (M1 junction 28) with National Coverage.
Salary: Dependant on experience

The Opportunity
Candiates must haveIEMA Environmental (PIEMA) qualification.
Reporting to the Group Head of HSEQ, this is an active and challenging role that requires an exceptionally organised and proactive individual to act as the Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Conscience for the company, ensuring that legislation and standards are complied with and, advise the Director responsible for safety on changes in legislation, results of safety monitoring, etc. The role will include occasion travel to other Company locations across the UK. A full driving licence is therefore an essential requirement.
A full job description will be provided to candidates selected for interview, but here is a snapshot of the role:
- Meet with prospective and existing clients, representatives of the HSE / ORR etc.
- Assist the Director and Senior Operations Manager in the process of tendering for new work, with inputs for health, safety, and environmental issues.
- Assist the Director responsible for safety, by providing advice on health, safety, quality, and environmental issues involving the company.
- Monitor the health, safety, and environmental performance of the company.
- Assist the Senior Operations Manager in reviewing organisational changes to ensure that health, safety, quality, and environmental performance is not compromised, or in breach of the company PC Licence, RISQS Accreditation and all other management system accreditations.
- Manage the periodic RISQS, PC Licence and management system accreditation audits.
- Assist the Senior Operations Manager in reviewing the company systems and processes to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
- Liaison with H W Martin (Plant) Ltd over supply and maintenance of fencing and forestry company plant
- Liaison with H W Martin (Waste) Ltd over the disposal of fencing and forestry company waste
- Advise the Director Responsible for Safety on changes in legislation or standards affecting Health & Safety and the Environment.
- Draft policy, instructions, and procedures etc, on behalf of the Directors Responsible for Safety and Quality.
- Investigate major or high-risk accidents and incidents and prepare a report for the Director Responsible for Safety.
- Oversee the procurement and Issue Personal Protective Equipment, etc, appropriate to the needs of all employees in the fencing organisation.
- Oversee the procurement of suitable training suppliers. Carry out and document risk assessments for fencing operations and associated works.
- Carry out safety checks on employees carrying out the erection of fencing and associated works.
- Ensuring the personal safety of both him and of others.
Essential Education
- Health, Safety and Environment CITB test for Managers and Professionals
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Member of IOSH)
- IEMA Environmental (PIEMA)
- Internal Auditor ISO 9001
- Personal Track Safety
Essential Experience
- At least 3 years experience in a similar HSEQ or compliance role.
- Experience in risk management - identifying emerging risks and managing ongoing risks.
- Understanding and experience of Principle Contractor License and RISQS audit.
- Understanding of business process review/audit including implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
- Knowledge of data security, GDPR, IT systems and document management
- Experience of good corporate social responsibility practices & principles
