REED are delighted to support our client who wishes to recruit a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Officer who will be responsible for the improvement of the HSEQ Management System primarily in two local sites. You will ensure health, safety, quality & the environment is firmly embedded within the culture of the Company and its employees. Emphasis of this role will be on prevention, however enforcement of HSEQ rules and regulations will be a key requirement
Responsibilities
Promote a positive & proactive safety culture through engagement, leadership, empowerment & accountability to ensure all our employees, customers & contractors go home safeMaintain, develop & audit integrated HSEQ Management system to ensure a culture of continuous improvement is sustained while maintaining a working relationship with all internal and external regulators & stakeholdersUtilise the internal auditing process to ensure company compliance with regulatory requirements, HSEQ best practice, environmental permits/consents & all applicable International & British Standards; leading the external auditsContribute to a workplace culture that promotes & supports the physical & mental wellbeing of all employees & assist in ensuring the delivery of suitable HSEQ instruction, information & trainingProactively monitor & enforce HSEQ compliance across the sites & advise on suitable control measures ensuring that all operations are managed in such a way as to prevent injuries, ill health, customer complaints & minimise environmental impactAssist the implementation & review of HSEQ policies, procedures & risk assessments ensuring adequate control & compliance with relevant legislation/guidanceAssist site management in the investigation of all accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, non-conformances & near misses. Provide advice on suitable improvement & corrective actionSupport, implement & improve the use of the Engage HSEQ technology across the sites & encourage positive reporting strategy through the development of shared ownershipAdopting a life cycle approach assess environmental impacts & support targets to reduce Co2 emissions, direct & indirect waste, energy consumption & water usageAssist in maintaining contractor approval system & ensure stringent contractor control procedures are followedOther duties commensurate with the role & within skills & capabilitiesCriteria:
Essential:
Relevant third level degree or equivalent
Relevant experience in successful companywide improvements Computer literate
