Job description

NRL are seeking to recruit talented Human Factors Specialists to work with several of our clients in the Warrington area, who do nuclear project work.
About the roles:
• Management of live HF scope and strategy document
• Planning / scoping activities for subsequent project phases
• Logging, tracking and closing off Human Factors issues, actions and requirements.
• HF design support, for example: Understanding the role of the operator – task analysis on key functions/tasks to inform design development, Human Factors requirements capture and Human Factors design advice.
• Attendance at key design review meetings
• Input into optioneering / design of analytical techniques and proposed technologies
• Providing ergonomic design advice / review to aspects such as HMI, anthropometric assessment, glovebox design, maintenance tasks, access / egress, workspace layout, etc.
• Support to Analytical Equipment Modifiers / down selection and nuclearisation of instruments
• Design verification of operator tasks, equipment design and workplace environments
• Support to Pre-operations function (staffing levels, training, competency, procedures, etc).
• Safety case support, for example: Input into the nuclear safety case strategy, utilising SL HF methodologies
• Attendance at HAZOPs and input into fault identification
• Input into allocation of safety function to operational controls
• Input into the development of radiological, criticality and chemotoxic safety assessments
• Substantiation of safety significant tasks / operator claims.
What you will need:
• Strong Human Factors background
• Significant experience providing integrated Human Factors design and safety case support in the nuclear industry
• Experience with Human Factors in Security would be advantageous
• Knowledge and experience working within the UK nuclear regulatory framework would be advantageous
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of integrated team
• Holds SC Clearance or eligible to obtain
• Proven track record of successful project delivery and significant experience of large capital projects
