Job description

At OFG, we work smarter so you can spend more time doing what makes you happy!

How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four*?

Our colleagues’ wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we’re always looking for new ways to improve everyone’s work/life balance. We’re taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent).

If the trial is a success, we’ll be rolling the 4DWW out across the Group – so there’s never been a more exciting time to join #teamOFG!

  • Title:           Humanities Teacher
  • Location:    Lamledge School, Shifnal, Shropshire
  • Salary:        up to £40,000 per annum dependent on experience
  • Hours:        40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Contract:    Permanent, Term Time only
  • UK Applicants only

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with autistic spectrum condition or pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Or you may have experience of working across both specialisms. Applications are invited from colleagues offering middle leadership experience, from mainstream schools and other educational settings, experience of assessment, planning and delivery of Maths.

The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required. We are looking for an individual who is able to help inspire and engage the young people that we serve. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment. Previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.

Qualifications Required

  • Teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching subjects such as Geography and History
