SalaryAn opportunity for a Court of Protection Solicitor has recently become available with a leading client of mine to join its well-established team in the Manchester office. The team has been ranked and recognised in Chambers and Partners, as well as Legal 500 awards.
You will be experienced managing deputyships, advising lay clients and trust corporations, and applying for and administering personal injury and wills trusts.
With this role, you will gain exposure to working alongside industry specialist, as well as being supportive in overseeing junior professionals such as Paralegals and Trainee Solicitors.
About You:
- Comprehensive understanding of the property and affairs activity of the Court of Protection, including file management before personal injury lawsuits are settled
- Experience of statutory wills, advising on LPAs and other documents to support relevant Court of Protection applications
- Knowledge of PI trust set up and management would be desirable but not essential
- An awareness of the financing sources for care packages, such as local government funds and ongoing medical treatment
- A sound understanding of relevant personal benefits, taxes, and other financial issues
