Hydraulic Engineer

Hydraulic Engineer required. Our client is a designer and manufacturer of hydraulic systems based in Wakefield. They are now looking for a Hydraulic Engineer due to the growth of the business.

Successful candidates will have experience with Installation, Commissioning, disassemble Fault Finding / Diagnostics, Service, Repair, Retrofits, Upgrades on Complete Hydraulic systems (HPU's) and Control systems/ components. Candidates will also be happy to work away 20% of the time.

• Installation, Commissioning, disassemble Fault Finding / Diagnostics, Service, Repair, Retrofits, Upgrades on Complete Hydraulic systems (HPU's) and Control systems/ components.
• Calibrating flow, pressure, temperature and positional devices and instruments and associated control panel devices.
• Fault finding on Electro/Hydraulic Systems
• Strip, assess and identify hydraulic parts in need of repair from Drawings/BOMs.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic installations
• Building new projects in factory and pipefitting.
• Repairs of old items including strip and inspect
• Servicing around the country- usually local. This will include pressers, hydraulic factory systems, a few bridges etc.

• Understand and interpret Hydraulic system drawings
• Excellent understanding of electrical/hydraulic system drawings and components.
• Fault finding on Electro/Hydraulic Systems, willingness to work on a multi skilled basis.
• Ability to strip, assess and identify hydraulic parts in need of repair from Drawings/BOMs.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic installations
• Hands on experience of Hydraulic Piston Pumps, Pressure and Flow Control Valves, Directional Control Valves, Check Valves, Double and Single Acting Cylinders.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• ONC / HNC qualified/recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship or relevant industry qualifications.
• Full Clean driving Licence

• Salary: £32,000- £35,000
• Working hours: Monday- Thursday 7:30- 4:30. Friday 7:30- 12:30
• Holiday Package: 25 days + 8BH
• Overtime: 1.33 for first 2 hours on weekdays, then time 1.5. Saturdays 1.5x and Sunday x2
• Vehicle provided for mobile service/ installation work.
• Death in service 3 times salary and other benefits.
