The company
My client are a highly regarded food manufacturing PLC. The business operates across the UK from several, well invested manufacturing facilities, delivering a fantastic range of premium products.
The role
As Department Manager - Hygiene, it's your job to manage a team of Hygiene Operatives, to develop and maintain hygiene systems within the site to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
Reporting into the Hygiene Manager you would also be responsible for developing your team through a coaching leadership style, overseeing the establishment of hygienic working practices across all departments as well as managing pest control and driving improvements in housekeeping across the site, manage the department paperwork in relations to cleaning schedules and also the labour costs for the department to accurately allocate the teams duties and ensure that food safety and hygiene standards comply with BRC and my clients food safety standards
The person
As well as tons of resilience you must have an intermediate food safety qualification and have some training on HACCP along with COSHH and BRC knowledge, have strong people management and leadership skills and have a proven track record of managing and engaging a team (ideally a large team that work 24/7 shifts), an understanding and experience of working in a high risk environment and strong leadership and coaching skills in order to engage motivate and develop large teams with varying skill sets
