Responsibilities:
- Using the Clean-In-Place (CIP) system to effectively clean the internal surfaces of the food production tanks and lines
- In the absence of the hygiene manager, leading customer audits/ visits regarding CIP cleaning
- Working to ensure the CIP is running efficiently and safely
- Completing investigations and carrying out corrective action in the event of failed cleans
- The training of staff to ensure adequate cover for this role
- Involvement in the hygiene department’s continuous improvement projects
Completing and recording:
- visual checks on CIP tanks
- post clean checks on production tanks and lines
- chemical concentration checks
- filter checks and conductivity meter checks
- CIP verification reports
- monitoring samples and swabs for the lab
- Cleaning production equipment - e.g. tote bins, coffee filters and production utensils
- Room cleans –the main production rooms in high care and low care, the CIP room, the chill and dry goods store
- Machinery cleans – e.g. sieves, detachable pipework, tanks (external cleans), header tank, pasteuriser, homogeniser, filler externals, conveyors, capper and metal detector
- Stripping equipment for cleaning and rebuilding it for production
- Supporting other functions of hygiene team when required
Previous experience in a similar role will be essential for this role.
