Job description

Hygiene Team LeaderWe are looking for a reliable, methodical individual with excellent people skills to undertake a hands-on role leading a small team of Hygiene Operatives. Using a variety of cleaning machinery, chemicals and tools the Hygiene Team will deliver excellent quality standards in line with the company’s food safety standards. Experience of working in food production would be beneficial, and the ability to follow procedures relating to hygiene, food safety and health and safety is an essential skill for this roleHygeine Team Leader RoleWorking outside of normal production hours, the Hygiene Team Leader’s role is to motivate and guide a small team responsible for the cleanliness of the production department’s equipment and facility. The aim of the team is to maintain excellent levels of hygiene throughout the production equipment in their care.Hours: 37.5 hours,  approx. 1330 - 2130  five shifts per week - Monday through Saturday.If working a Saturday shift, time off in the week is given. Candidates are required to be flexible due to production variables.Please note that public transport does not always arrive/depart at suitable times, so candidates are required to have their own transport or live locally.Hygeine Team Leader TrainingYou will receive 6 months of practical, hands-on training in the role as well as working towards your Basic Food Safety & COSHH. Our dedicated Learning & Development coordinator and our experienced production team will support you with your academic and practical skills every step of the way. Once competent in the role you may be able to work towards your Level 2 Food Safety qualification.   • To operate a variety of cleaning machinery and equipment in line with the company’s standards
  • To follow all procedures relating to COSHH, Health and Safety, Food Safety *
  • Training and developing the team of Hygiene Operatives
  • Monitor staff to ensure they complete tasks to a high standard
  • Organise, prioritise and coordinate the team workload
  • To communicate any issues to the management team as necessary
  • To accurately complete records relating to hygiene standards

* Due to food hygiene regulations only one solid wedding band is permitted. No earrings, studs, bracelets, necklaces, makeup, strong smelling deodorants or perfumes are permitted in the factory areas
Hygiene Team Leader Skills
  • An excellent communicator able to build working relationships, lead and motivate
  • Previous experience of working to high levels of hygiene standards
  • ??The ability to pass a Level 2 Food Safety Qualification with the support of our dedicated Learning & Development Coordinator
  • Previous Team Leader experience
