Length: 6-month contract - with a view to extend
Location: Hybrid working with travel once a month to Telford or Worthing

One of my public sector clients are currently looking for a IBM Mainframe Engineer/Developer. They are looking for a IBM Mainframe Engineer/Developer to join them on a predominantly remote basis with travel to site once per month. This engagement will run on for an initial 6 month contract - with a view to extend.
They are interested in IBM Mainframe Engineers/Developers with experience of working in an Agile environment amongst multi-disciplinary teams. Past experience of working within the financial sector would be ideal.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Experience with COBOL
- Software development activity across the full range of development lifecycle; requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding/development, testing, implementation and live support.
- Provide Mainframe DB2 support for application development team and query support for customers.
- Application development in a IBM COBOL environment
- Proactive in nature, personal drive, enthusiasm, willingness to learn
- Excellent communications skills including stakeholder management
- Design solutions with understanding of the architecture and NFRs
