Ichiba - General Shop Assistant

Job Purpose: As a General Shop Assistant you will help your line managers with daily tasks in order to run the site smoothly.

Location: White city - W12 7HB

Pay: £11.44/ Hour

Working hours: Around 30-35 hours a week, shifts are scheduled on a rota basis between 7am -10pm(subject to change) weekdays and weekends.

Job purpose:

• Provide exceptional customer service at all times
• To be an ambassador for the Japan Centre Group Brand
• To assist customers while they are in our sites with any questions or queries they may have
• To Serve customers through the till
• To assist customer packing or carrying their shopping within our sites
• To prepare food for our customers
• Adhering to Food Safety and Health and Safety standards
• To advise our customers about our food products
• To serve food to our customers
• Refill our shelves with the relevant products
• Check & rotate date codes to ensure we provide our customers with quality products
• Complete stocktaking activities on a periodic basis
• This job requires you to stand throughout your working shifts
• Manual Handling - lifting, bending, stretching and carrying heavy items
• You will be trained in all stations including Cafe/ Doughnut bar/ Oyster bar.

Person Specification

• Experience is beneficial BUT NOT a deal-breaker. If you have all the other qualities we are looking for, then we can train you on the job.
• Good Character: Positive/ Friendly/ Smiley
• Ability to demonstrate a professional communication and excellent customer service skills
• Willingness to learn
• Knowledge of the Japanese products that we sell.
• Communication skills
• Eligible to work in the UK- YMS / working holiday visa welcome.

A two hour trial shift is required before employment can be considered.
