Are you a paralegal with experience in immigration? Do you have a passion to learn more practically by working on a wide range of cases in immigration? Are you open to work as a fee earner? We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Immigration team in our Birmingham office.

What does the Immigration team look like?
We are a friendly team, focused on serving our clients with compassion with the best legal advice and work. We work on all the immigration applications – Application for entry clearance or leave to enter to the UK, Leave to Remain in the UK, Nationality and Citizenship, Asylum & Human rights cases, Business Immigration and other various areas. We pride ourselves as one of the best human rights claim firms across the UK and also manage to get other complex immigration cases granted. Our skills and expertise with immigration law has led us to expand into 3 cities within 4 years from the inception of the firm. We work as a team, support, help and appreciate each other.
What would you be expected to do?
- To provide a casework and advocacy service to clients of the firm in all aspects of
immigration law. This is largely casework based.
- Build relationships with clients and communicate well with them and the same for other
team members.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- To provide advice as part of our telephone advice service and to book the necessary follow
up appointments.
- To take part in outreach work to solicit new clients to generate revenue
- To ensure prompt billings on files
- Manage a caseload of files independently
- Complete delegated legal work and be able to work independently, any complications that
may arise be ready to solve calmly
- Submit applications in for visas and leave in all areas of immigration law
- Lodging appeal notices and grounds
- Applications for bail
- Settlement applications
- Business Immigration applications
- Asylum Immigration applications
- Representing clients in correspondence with UKVI and at UKVI interviews
- To keep up to date the changes in relevant legislation
- To undertake such training as is necessary as to maintain standards required by OISC.

What we expect you to have?
- At least 1 year experience in Immigration Law is preferred, own client base is also preferred.
- Marketing Skills
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Self motivation and goal oriented.
- Display professionalism, good quality of service and a “can do” attitude.
- Able to learn procedural and processing requirements for various visa types
- Build knowledge of Firm with potential client base.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and achieves high level of productivity. Handle 30 caseload
on an average.
- Multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
- Meet assigned deadlines and communicates case progress/status/issues to supervisors
- Demonstrate flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team
- Contribute to positive work environment
- Develop strong working relationship with team members and gains their confidence
through displaying professionalism and efficiency in all communications
- Have proficiency in both written and verbal communication while communicating within
the firm and while representing the firm to clients and related organisations.
- Learn from both positive and negative experiences and adapts accordingly
- Fluent Arabic Speaker
