SalaryA fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Indirect Buyer to join a brilliant client of ours who are one of the UK leading manufacturers in their field on a full time, permanent basis.
This role is to join a team of 3 in the procurement team and take responsibility of all indirect buying for the business which last year was £22m.

This role will suit someone who has previous buying or procurement experience ideally within indirect buyer but will consider material buyers as well. You will look after buying across categories including transport, facilities, H&S, quality, engineering, IT, sales & marketing.
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £36,000 - £40,000
Hybrid working: 2 days a week office based
Hours: Mon-Fri 37.5 hour working week. Flexible on start times.
Expectations:
- Manage the Procurement of a range of Indirect Products & services with key stakeholders.
- Reduce cost & complexity in our supplier base.
- Support/manage the development and implementation of key category strategies as appropriate.
- Management & development of suppliers within responsible categories.
- Actively source new suppliers to create competition & ensure value for money.
- Ensuring business critical suppliers have robust contracts in place.
- Contract management with timely exit and tender plans.
- Support stakeholders with invoice queries.
- Create supplier scorecards for key areas.
- Support the delivery of the 3 year Procurement strategy.
The ideal candidate:
- Will have previous buying/procurement experience
- Have good communication and customer service skills to fit the collaborative style that this business takes with their suppliers
- Must be a competent Excel user and can perform pivot tables ideally
- Experience of SAP experience would be desirable
- Must be base a commutable distance from Aston
